We do not set any additional cookies for this purpose, nor do we store your IP address or device ID.

We use this information to understand how people find feierly and to improve our services. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to analyze and improve our reach. This information is associated with your account and is subject to the same retention periods.

21.2 Reach of Invitations

We track how often guests view an invitation and how often it is shared via the share buttons. Only one count per invitation per day is stored; no information about the person viewing the invitation is recorded. To ensure that repeated views are not counted twice, we keep track—in the technically necessary session—of which invitations have already been viewed on that day. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

21.3 Accepting and Declining Invitations (for Guests)

You can accept or decline an invitation without creating an account. We only store the information you enter yourself: your response (Yes, Maybe, or No), your name, the number of people (if you choose to provide it), a message, and answers to any questions the host asks (such as a meal preference). Only the person who invited you can see your response. That person can delete individual responses and, if they choose, receive an email with new responses.

To allow you to change your response later, we set a technically necessary cookie („fy_rsvp_…“) with a random identifier. It is valid for 180 days; only a hash of this identifier is stored in our database. We do not store guests’ IP addresses or email addresses along with their responses. To prevent a large number of responses from being submitted in a short period of time, we store only a hash of the IP address in a cache for no more than one hour (see 11.3).

The responses will be deleted as soon as the invitation is deleted. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR (legitimate interest of the person sending the invitation and of Feierly in organizing the celebration); for the cookie, § 25(2)(2) of the TDDDG.

21.4 Designing Without an Account

You can design an invitation before you create an account. Your draft will be saved on our server, including text and an uploaded photo. To ensure that only you can open it again, we set a technically necessary cookie („fy_draft“) with a random identifier. It is valid for 7 days. Our database contains only a hash of this identifier, not the identifier itself. The draft is not publicly accessible to anyone.

Create an account or log in, and we'll save the draft to your account and delete the cookie. We'll delete any drafts that aren't saved after 7 days without any changes; the photo will be moved to the trash. After another 30 days, the drafts will be permanently deleted.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR (provision of the service you have requested); for the cookie, it is Section 25(2)(2) of the TDDDG.

21.5 Deleting Your Account

If you delete your account, your invitations will be taken offline. Photos, text, wish lists, your guests’ responses, and the information identifying your account will be deleted, and your name and email address in your account will be redacted. We retain orders and invoices for 10 years in accordance with tax retention requirements (§ 147 AO); therefore, your name and email address will remain on the invoices.

21.6 Deleting Old Invitations

Free invitations remain online for 12 months from the date they are created; after that, we delete them. Before that happens, you’ll receive an email at your account’s address. You’ll have 30 days from the date of that email: You can extend the invitation once for free for another 12 months or keep it permanently with a Pro subscription. We do not delete invitations for which you have purchased Pro.

When you delete an event, we remove photos, text, location details, the wish list, and your guests’ responses. For our statistics, we retain only the following information—without any reference to content—: when the invitation was created, which design and occasion were selected, and how often it was viewed and shared. The photos remain in a non-public trash folder on our server for up to 30 days and are then permanently deleted. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR (storage limitation pursuant to Article 5(1)(e) of the GDPR; legitimate interest in maintaining a lean database).
